has a truly creative approach to the figurative design in her work. She has a keen talent for extending the natural movements of the human form to instil a sense of movement and energy.

By playing with the proportions of various parts of the body, stretching out the lines of the form and exaggerating every aspect, Ariadna’s illustrations immediately feel alive and dynamic.

While creating work that is contemporary, Ariada takes inspiration from many of the great painters.

She tells us more about this as well as the materials she uses to create her aesthetic.

“My name’s Ariadna Sysoeva, I’m a freelance artist and illustrator.”

“I draw portraits, famous people, posters for events, and participate in international exhibitions and competitions.”

“My style is similar to expressionism, it was influenced by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha, Pablo Picasso, Aubrey Beardsley, Ralph Steadman, Dave McKean, and other less famous artists and illustrators, as well as my professional teachers.”

“I create my artworks in mixed technique using graphite, watercolour graphite, pencil, sauce, gouache and digital tools.”

“Usually, I start on a physical surface, it can be embossed paper or any suitable texture, then I convert it to digital via scanner or a photo, and finish it in Cintiq.”

“Sometimes my illustrations turn into gif-animations or short-movies.”

“I look for inspiration in travel, cinema, music, fashion, etc.”
