APEX Network Blockchain Announcement

Dear APEX Community,

Firstly we’d like to thank our community for the unwavering support for the APEX Network — it’s been a wild ride so far and we are grateful to have you on it. Secondly we would like to show our appreciation for the NEO team, Onchain team, and the greater NEO community, for their continued support and being a part of our journey.

After research and technical evaluation combined with commercial planning, based on client requirements and our bigger strategic vision, we have to build capabilities that are hard to achieve through a dApp or protocol alone. Such capabilities include but are not limited to enterprise-ready sidechains, out of the box offchain scaling, better support for unstructured data, and turnkey data connectors for smart contracts.

We will be creating a blockchain for all B2C interactions (CRM, data, marketing, loyalty) and aim to change the way businesses interact with their customers. The use case and goal is still very similar to our earliest whitepaper, except we will be building it out as a platform. This will enable CPX to be used on the main APEX Network and there will also be auxiliary brand/enterprise networks, which can have their own token economy and custom apps, but able to communicate and exchange value with the larger ecosystem (main APEX Network).

The APEX Network blockchain is already under development as of early February. Having said that, we will still build initial POC’s (proof of concepts) for our enterprise partners/customers initially on top of NEOContract, and CPX will still be a NEP-5 token until mainnet launches and token swap functionality is implemented in the CPX Wallet, in which all NEP-5 CPX holders will receive APEX mainnet CPX. This will not affect exchange listings, and CPX can continue to be held via Neotracker/NEON. The planned testnet launch is Q4 and mainnet in 2019. Partnership development and pilot program recruitment has already started and is gaining fast traction. We plan to release more details and specs by late March/Early April — so please stay tuned.
