I lived in downtown Portland
On Parking Tickets, Financial Karma, and Valentine’s Day

This has to be a theme in Portland. I have over $800 in tickets for parking in front of my own building. There’s no meters and I always park in the designated area. However, because the signs state that you can park from 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on the spot), they give me tickets. Despite the fact that a.) a permit is not available for anywhere in my vicinity and b.) they have no idea if I left and came back to the same spot (which has happened several times now). Not to mention the fact that the Lyft headquarters is up the street and their drivers continually take up spots. It’s incredibly frustrating.
