Strong And Empowered For Equality! Margaret Olore is a self-driven and outspoken passionate Gender Activist who speaks up and empowers the girl child and women in her community and in Uganda. Margret is a Communications major in her final year at Makerere University and she is working on her professional project focusing on; The Impact of Sexual Relationships on Academic Performance of the students at Makerere university.
Margret hails from the Eastern part of Uganda, in Tororo district, West-Budama North County in Paya Sub-county. While at home, she has taken upon herself to volunteer and make an impact in her community.
Margret is a hardworking, self-motivated and ambitious Social Justice Journalist who feels the responsibility to fight for and Speak against injustices in her community through solutions based journalism. She is also a passionate about digital communication, writing, public speaking and counseling.
She has taken it upon herself to build both her personal and professional skills. In 2017, Margret attended a leadership training camp in Namugongo with Forum For Women in Democracy an NGO that empowers women and the the girl child to participate in the leadership arena.
She has acquired extensive knowledge and skills in the field of Public Relations through her industrial training in 2019 with Uganda Police Force in Naguru where she, wrote stories, did photography and video-graphy , media monitoring and editorial work.
Margret’s handwork while with Uganda Police Force resulted into her new role as a volunteer at the institution where she works under the Press and Communications Unit. She is a certificate holder in Science Journalism at the Department of Journalism and Communication Makerere University which knowledge she applies in her professional work.
