Caitlin, While I can’t disagree with a single point in your two posts on McCain and his brain tumor, and while I know it must have felt good to vent and express your anger and hatred of this war monger, I don’t see how it fits with your position on building consensus with those from the opposing political party?
I first became aware of you through Debbie on the Sane Progressive youtube website. I appreciated everything you had to say. It made sense to me. I feel I’ve lost my three brothers because they’re braiwashed in the right wing ideologue paradigm.
Your interview with the San Progessive made me realize the value in trying to build consensus based on our common needs and not on political differences that are largely the result of brainwashing. After all… given what the DNC did to destroy Sanders we on the left really don’t have much to crow about. And now the Russians are being demonized by the democrats. WTF?
If you believe in a God (whomever she is), you have to trust that McCain will get his just deserves when his time comes. There is no doubt in my mind that he will spend eternity as a briquet… slowly smoldering until he turns to ashes.
So while your post was true, it exposed you as vindictive and mean spirited in a way that doesn’t serve your “lets build consensus” position.
That said… I was sickened by the two recent hit pieces leveled against you on counterpunch. What is troubling to me is that you’ve given those who agree with the counterpunch hit pieces even more to attack you with.
McCain would never have served in the Senate had it not been for the Arizona voters. One doesn’t just decide to become a Senator and ascend to the throne. One is voted in. Arizona voters enabled McCain and continue to enable him every time his term expires.
Your anger is just a little misplaced here… don’t you think?
