Adaptive Forging Streamlines Apollo Blockchain

An efficient blockchain works better.

Apollo Foundation launched in Q4 2018 breakthrough innovation called Adaptive Forging which makes the blockchain more efficient. According to one Apollo developer:

This feature allows Apollo to save space needed for storing a database. Empty blocks are not generated if there are no transactions in the network. Thus, Adaptive Forging doesn’t increase the database with empty blocks. However, blocks that contain at least one transaction are accepted in seconds. At the same time there are control blocks that come after a certain timeframe to keep the blockchain running.

Last month, Apollo Foundation released Hermes 1.0 update (Step Two) which incorporates two-second block speed, making Apollo (APL) one of the fastest cryptos on Earth. Even faster than Ripple (XRP) whose settlement time is four seconds.

Adaptive Forging removes wasteful, non-stop block creation. Other networks, including Ethereum, have been unsuccessful in similar attempts.

With Adaptive Forging blocks are created and forged only when a transaction takes place. It greatly simplifies the blockchain and enables fast actions as well as eliminates bloat issues.
