How could ApolloFi technically enable Web 3.0 Social

A brand-new social behavior is now in its planning stage. As one of the earliest social platforms, ApolloFi is pleased to announce that: we have implemented project setting, framework and product building, and have officially launched the public testing.

In order to enable more users to gain a deeper understanding of ApolloFi products, we will discuss the technology’s realizability from three major challenges:on-chain programmable, storage and decentralized identity (DID).

Technology challenge 1: On-chain programmable

In the second half of 2021, NFT Avatar went viral on Twitter. Compared with homogeneous tokens, NFT has emphasized its individuality by its Non-Fungible attribute, Which is easy to explain why it has become the spiritual belief of some minorities. However, all we know is the wallet home addresses among all those similar NFTs, which is hard to make any connection with the owners themselves.

Inspired by Loot, ApolloFi has innovated on NFT assets and created “on-chain programmable” NFT. In terms of the ownership, ApolloFi provides owners the power to publicly edit the NFT — which means you have the NFT ownership timestamp and are able to let the world know your ideas! When your NFT is sold, your power of changing the NFT programmable settings is disabled, and the ability will be given to the new owner.

Technology challenge 2: Storage authenticity

With the popularity of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and self-created content, we have entered an era of information explosion where the need for massive data storage has become a must. With the prosperity of NFT and public chains such as Ethernet, Avalanche and Solana, on-chain storage has become a non-negligible focus. Although many blockchains are processing well on lightweight applications like DeFi, they are still unable to handle programs like social applications and marketing applications.

In order to exert the full potential of Web 3.0, ApolloFi is adopting a new blockchain establishment, taking into account the necessary status of regular social applications: posting content, following others, “likes”, comments etc. On the aspect of storage, ApolloFi adopts Filecon and Arweave to store user data and status jointly, which not only contains on-chain status, but also storage, index and on-chain inquiry. Thus to provide as many as possible Web 2.0 users the experience of seamlessly switching to ApolloFi social products.

Technology challenge 3: Decentralized identity (DID) and privacy

In the Web 3.0 era, the self-consciousness of individuals is awakening, especially the millennials and the Z generation who think highly of the voice in the community network and personal privacy protection. The networking giant — — Facebook, once got notorious for user data leakage, causing a decrease in the market value of nearly 100 billion. In contrast, the decentralization and privacy protection represented by blockchain has become rather precious.

In ApolloFi’s technology stack, all data is owned by the owner themselves. In addition, users can selectively share data with authorized communities and social platforms, creating a special character for each interaction. This refers to frequently mentioned Decentralized Identity (DID).

A strong DID infrastructure can hopefully solve the problems of individual information stealing and fraud which efficiently solve the problem of credit trust. Broadly speaking, the integration of ApolloFi’s DID and the social business card that is popular in NFT could serve both as a bridge to connect Web 2.0 social portal websites to the world of Web 3.0 and jointly craft a special identifier and brand tonality.

Overview

Precisely to say, ApolloFi has no difference from the Web 2.0 social on aspects of UI design and product functions at the surface level. However, the substances are different in terms of the ownership authority held by users, which is not applicable in any Web 2.0 products.
