A troubling conclusion to be sure, and loaded with all the evils of a systematic and structural bias/racism/classism obfuscated by the illusion of individual agency/choice. What (if anything) can be done to counter-balance these forces? Are there ways of presenting or parsing the data that could nudge parents to make different choices?
