You always adapt

I’m a lazy folk who wants it all. I’m bad with my personal relationships and I’m always close to the verge of insanity.

But, if there’s one personal trait I always admired on me, that would be being adaptive to change.

Whatever happens, I’ll survive and have fun with it.

Throughout the past 1,5 years, my life once again turned upside down and then downside up. I had to quit my job (which I truly loved), break up with my girlfriend, join the Greek army (that was mandatory as I was born in a primitive, yet beautiful country).

Then I got my job back, found a new girlfriend and I even started doing more things that pump me up!

As you might think, I was into deep shit — at least for the first half of the period.

But it wasn’t the first time, things looked like that. I went from an aspiring college student to a nearly homeless (and almost a drug addicted)musician and from there back to an aspiring marketer.

I played my cards and lost. Then I won & then I lost again.

What you need to understand is that this is not a personal story. This is everyone’s story.

Back in the day — when adulthood kicked me in the nuts, I went to visit a psychologist. It’s not that I felt something was wrong with me; In the time it was the only person that seemed logical to ask about life.

After a couple of sessions, it occurred to me that there were patterns in the ways people dealt with life.

We are the same, more or less.

Whatever the way we perceive problems, the essence of it remains the same:

We have problems. Most of us are damaged & it’s fine.

Everything seems OK after a while.

You’re still alive mate! That means you’ll keep playing ‘till you die!

At least, that’s what I’ll do.

Born to lose, live to win baby!

It’s not about the whole inspirational kind of crap that you double tap on Instagram.

Life’s a losing game and the time it’s most probable for us to fail, is when it seems we’ll win.

That’s totally ok. We’re going to survive. Our species is made this way.

So, the next time life gives you lemons, make some lemonade, drink the whole bottle and continue to whatever you feel you’re supposed to do.

ADAPT!
