ANU#34 — Back-end Solutions, Payment Updates and Blockchain Life

AppCoins News Update, or ANU for short, is a regular bi-weekly update by the AppCoins team. As usual, we are going to cover dev updates, market reports, team members and upcoming events. This week’s focus is on wallet onboarding, payment updates, back-end solutions and further improvements on our APK Migrator Tool.

As you may know, the beginning of April is also the start of a new quarter. For this second quarter of the year, we have decided to focus on making our already big ecosystem more robust, reliable and simple.

Since the last ANU, we have been working on the following:

Wallet onboarding

The user’s first impression is very important for us in order to engage with them. Right now, our onboarding is too techie, filled with a lot of information that the regular user doesn’t necessarily care about and can easily get confused by. We are working on a new and more appealing wizard with more relevant information in the context of the AppCoins ecosystem.

Payment bugs

We have been receiving reports from users saying that they weren’t able to make payments, but we’ve never been able to reproduce the issue. Thanks to Richard, a user who reached out with an example of the issue in question, we were able to figure it out and solve it. We will unveil the fix in our next release.

Making the back-end more robust

Downtimes are a problem in every system, but when it comes to payment systems, we have to reduce it as much as possible, as it represents a loss for our partners. In the last weeks, we’ve been working on a fallback system to make sure we’re able to process and register every transaction in the blockchain.

The APK Migrator Tool

As you may have read in our previous posts, we are working on a migrator system that will allow developers to migrate from Google Billing to AppCoins Billing automatically — without the developer writing a single line of code.

We have also been working to make our APK Migrator Tool compatible with apps developed in Unity— apps which can have an obfuscated verification system when purchased. Our very first implementation of this process will be tested in the following weeks. This is an important step towards our goal to make the developers’ life as easy as possible.

As always, you’re invited to follow our work regarding all of the products we’re working on:
