What is JAMstack

A short note for newcomers, JAMstack stands for JavaScript, APIs, and Markup. The term was coined by Mathias Biilmann to describe a modern web development architecture based on client-side JavaScript, reusable APIs, and prebuilt Markup.

Automation Tools

Writing and using tools in your development, sometimes (not always) might help you to skip over the manual or repetitive work that occurs in the daily routine. To generate apps in different patterns and technologies, the AppSeed platform uses a semi-automated process:

  • Phase #1 — flat HTML parsing and conversion to various template engines (PUG, Blade, Jinja).

Curious how we manage to translate any design to production-ready templates? We wrote an article about it: Open-Source HTML Parser

  • Phase #2 — The processed design is mixed with real apps, equipped with basic modules and tools, prototyped in different programming languages

Now, back to our curated list with generated JAMstack apps, let’s present some beautiful and simple web apps, starting with the free ones.

In case you want to build the app, without leaving this page, just type a few lines of code in the terminal:

$ git clone https://github.com/app-generator/jamstack-argon-design-system.git
$ cd jamstack-argon-design-system
$ yarn # install modules
$ yarn start # start the app with LIVE edit option

If all goes well, the JAMstack argon should be visible in the browser.
