I wrote something about this on my own site, appealing to my readers to not use ad blockers and to please donate to my Patreon if they value my work. I mentioned how just 1% of my audience donating $1 per month could allow my site to survive and even remove most of the ads. I gained a $1 donor and lost a $5 donor. so much for “just offer people the option to pay.”
