The Opportunity Dip

Don’t let an opportunity turn into a missed chance.

The Opportunity Dip is defined as the moment after an opportunity arrives. You get a new sales lead. You get a new subscriber to your newsletter. You get asked by a department store if they can stock your product. A business contact you met at the convention texts you to say Hi and invites to you to the business forum.

Straight after these moments, you get a hit of excitement. And then a dip. You relax and press SNOOZE on the opportunity. Why do you relax? Well, you think the work is already done when it is not. You still have to turn the potential energy of the opportinity to the kinetic energy of an actual connection/deliverable.

So, when you get these opportunities, soak in the excitement, THEN do NOT press SNOOZE. Think clearly and then take action to convert the opportunity into an actuality.
