Back to School?

Are you considering going back to school? Don’t know whether you should continue working full time or drop everything to go back? Well, as many other things are changing in the 21st century, so is the way we go about getting our education, especially for graduate school. After graduating with my bachelors and being in the work force for a few months, I knew I wanted to go back to school. The only problem was I knew I couldn’t go back to school full time, I just couldn’t afford it. So, I looked for online programs that would allow me to continue working full time while taking classes.

What should you look for in an online program?

1. That they have a program that closely aligns to the material you want to learn

2. Their faculty is aware that many students are not “traditional” students — i.e. many have families, work full time, in the military, or could be joining later in life

3. The school has been around for a while and in the online space for a considerable amount of time

4. Good student support since you will not physically be in front of professors and interacting with faculty

5. Flexibility is key!

6. A well established learning environment, like Blackboard
