To pile on to what everyone else said, I would say it almost doesn’t matter what your degree is in unless it’s a STEM field. It’s about pursuing opportunities like internships or jobs that build a network of people you can contact later down the road. Networking was such an obscure, uncomfortable concept to me in college. I got a bunch of internships through job fairs and whatnot, but I could have done a much better job about giving people updates about what I was doing and reaching out when I graduated to say, HI! I’ve just graduated with such and such degree, as you know I’ve done a few of these things. I’m interested in doing something like this, so if you hear of anything you think I’d be a good fit for, please do let me know. Something like that. Good luck!
As a girl who will be starting college this fall (nine days until I move in!!)
