BLACK AND BLUE
Hey Dear Friend,
This is really about my first experience in the Cinema.
I wouldn’t really call it a Date Night, because I feel I need the express permission of my movie-partner for that.
But to sound cool... I’ll call it a date night.
Take note Shakuur
We went to see this movie, "Black and Blue" in the Ventura Cinema and I was more excited to be there than I was about the movie.
I didn’t care to see a trailer or read the reviews provided.
I just felt been surprised would do.
Now if you know anything about the Police force, you’ll know the colors ‘Blue and Black’ are symbolic.
So, what does it mean?
According to google;
The black space above the blue line represents society, order and peace.
While the black below, crime, anarchy, and chaos.
The Thin Blue Line running between them, “the police,” separates the two, keeping crime separated from society.
Its remarkable how some people display such courage and lay their lives on the line for others.
I’ve never been held at gunpoint (I’m hoping you haven’t too).
But there are certain people who risk death daily trying to keep us both safe.
They see it as an obligation,
A code of conduct,
A responsibility and a duty that must be performed.
About the movie,
The descriptiom from google goes thus;
A rookie policewoman in New Orleans inadvertently captures the shooting death of a young drug dealer on her body cam. After realizing the murder was committed by corrupt cops, she teams up with the only person from the community who’s willing to help her.
Now, she finds herself on the run from both the vengeful criminals and the lawmen who desperately want to destroy the incriminating footage.
The lead character is Naomi Harris, with Tyrese Gibson and Frank Grillo as important characters too.
Top things I learnt from Blue and Black movie;
1. Betrayal
2. Sacrifice
3. The bond of Brotherhood
4. The strength of responsibility.
Lastly, (and definitely not the least)
Always take a jacket to the movies!
(This part is important, especially if you can’t stand the cold like me.
I absolutely can’t stand air-conditioning.)
But most of all,
how one’s sheer will and belief that justice must be enforced at all levels made the movie what it is.
I believe we also have job of responsibility to everyone and in everywhere we find ourselves.
We are responsible for our actions and inactions and even though we can’t always be excellent, we should atleast strive for that.
The police officer showed that tenacity, and I’ll never forget it in a hurry.
“The price of greatness is responsibility.” Winston Churchill once said.
And since the essence of this blog is to reflect on our lives to produce the Best Version, I feel responsibility should be added as an essential ingredient.
Take responsibility for your actions and inactions, words and silence, thoughts and feelings!
This is my one word to you dear friend!
Till next time.
Keep living
