People love to brag that how well they can multitask and how busy they stay throughout the day. As world is moving towards more well developed state, the people are more busy in their routine, they want to do more things at a time in order to make more money.

As a result, they can’t do anything with perfection.

Jack of all trades, master of none.”

Psychologists who study what happens to cognition (mental processes) when people try to perform more than one task at a time have found that the mind and brain were not designed for heavy-duty multitasking. The brain works most efficiently when it can focus on a single task for a longer period of time. Previous research shows that multitasking, which means performing several tasks at the same time, reduces productivity by as much as 40%.

So, in order to resolve issue of multitasking, Pomodoro timer was invented.

The Pomodoro technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. This technique stops you from living in the dream world known as multitasking. Human brain loves reward. If you are going to perform a task, set timer for 25 minutes and after 25 minutes, take short break and then repeat the process till task is completed.

So, I decided to use Pomodoro technique for very first time in order to complete my Blog writing. But, in very first 25 minutes, I was distracted by my niece. Again, I set reminder of 25 minutes, my sister came by saying its time for food, first eat then do your work.:) I was distracted again and again which leads to less productivity and thus couldn’t complete my task in given time. I think the main issue was time management. I have to select that time where chances of distractions should be minimum.

Now, I had an idea about how to manage my time after applying pomodoro technique. If you are going to perform some task with full attention, you can do it by saving your much time rather doing multitasking.

I will definitely going to use this technique for doing work with more attention as human brain can only pay attention to a single object for short period of time in greed to get something. I will improve my experience by simply selecting that corner where distractions may occur less and for this purpose the night timing is best. During that time, the time I spend will be more fruitful.

Brian Tracy said,

“There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing.”

Guys, What am I missing here? Let me know in the comments and I’ll add it in blog post!
