How Social Bots Created an Anti-Amber Heard & Aquaman Campaign

How To Make SOCIAL BOTS? — Political Anti-Amber Heard & Aquaman Campaign will show you everything you need to know about Social Bots and how Bots using Hate Campaigns work.

Why are there Higher Volumes and Numbers of Hate Bots on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and Change.org than there are on Reddit or IMDB?

(Reality: J. Depp’s newest movie bombed at just $15,000 on its opening weekend)

  • This shows how to AstroTurf using social bots or social media bots. It creates a small hate group into a so-called ‘movement.’ The hate and use of bots gets ignored since she, the victim, is female, lgbt, and in entertainment.

Simple Answers: IPv6 and Proxies. IPv6 is allowed on the high volume bot sites, but only IPv4 is allowed on Reddit and IMDB. Site List - IPv6.watch

IPv6 is cheaper to create than IPv4. So much cheaper, that auto-scripts exist to create 1 million IPs to use for proxies for $100. The hardware, and data is then the cost, mostly in time. Short Answer: They Make Their Own Proxy IPs.
- People can also create their own VPSes (virtual machines) on their physical machines, which takes away the hosting costs per month and RAM costs. Mobile Data and VPSes can be used to create IPs for their own proxy servers, and with IPv6 allowing sites, it can be unlimited. Data, hardware, bandwidth, and time.
(Not linking to the auto-proxy-scripts because of possible malicious intent users).

Now, how do the social bots work?

They work in real-time and use multiple sites to share the links, while using BotNets to hide their bot-mechanisms by using groups. They choose keywords, Urls, @usernames, for targeting, and actions to replicate. They click on shared urls most to appear like it’s from sharing instead of from a bot opening HTTP browser url requests. Detection, info bars, and software testing can be hidden in code. Gmails are the least expensive to make and most used.

Natural language processing, labeling with generation models, artificial intelligence, open source training libraries, as well as more simplistic auto-posting lists with machine learning, python and selenium, chromedrivers or seleniumdrivers, lists of datasets, and files with actions, can be used. The more hate is posted, the more the bots can be ‘trained’ to post more realistic hate content.

The more time passes, the more bots can be created.

Programs for Bots, Rotating IPs, Static IPs, and IP Requests:
Programs for bots will typically show the status, output, login info, and more information, such as seen from ChronoSocial.com or MonsterSocial.net. Social Bots use Static IPs, while Traffic Bots (such as Change.org petitions) use Rotating IPs. The IP requests can be programmed into the bot, extensions, APIs, or VPS Windows proxy.

On Instagram (with the most videos available on bots than likely any other type of bot), short phrases are easy to spam. The other bots then typically focus on liking and sharing to amplify. It’s easiest for bots to parallel chosen hate accounts than to only post their own.
Warner Bros Studio’s Instagram account, Amber Heard’s accounts, DC Comics, L’Oreal, journalists, and others are victims of this campaign of customized bots. The same sentences; the ‘likes’ changing.

Promoting a product may face more scrutiny these days than targeted hate or abuse campaigns, and aggregated astroturfing can hide the ultimate intent.
- The targeted campaign against Amber Heard clearly has insiders feeding the hate groups information updates. Notice that though many Free Britney Spears fans have followed her their entire lives, they do not immediately know hearing updates or updates in her life even if it’s posted on the Los Angeles Court House website. Bots are being used with the #FreeBritney campaign, too, with the White House petition getting 100,000 signatures in 2 weeks with a 1 paragraph description. Every-time 30 or so people go in-person to support her at her hearings, bots trend the event and hashtags. With Amber Heard’s example, they immediately know updates before anyone else. Amber Heard’s own supporters don’t even know what’s going on.

20,000 accounts consistently post hashtags and keywords on Twitter against Amber Heard to trend in search when typing her name. They choose users who regularly post updates, to make the petition appear ‘more realistic.’ The amounts of comments on Change petitions are less than signatures realistically, since comments require logging in with verified emails and are harder to create. 500,000 signatures with only 146 comments is not realistic. This gives then the appearance of AstroTurfing a hate campaign.

The Times of London pointed out automated tweets and Bots in 2020:

Deleted Screenshots of an Email sent to Adam Waldman, Depp’s persona non grata lawyer, from The Times of London about 20,000 accounts on Twitter tweeting about Amber Heard, attacking Amber Heard, and detection using Bot Sentinel of automatic-like activity. Bot Sentinel is a free extension program for TweetDeck, and is not a data analysis firm such as from Digital Forensic Research Lab at the Atlantic Council.

Bots are also used immediately to create fissures in any relationships and to post to prevent sharing of information.

Why would Hate Groups target Amber Heard?

She’s very liberal progressive, worked with the United Nations (high profile leaders worldwide), focused on Women’s Rights and LGBTQ Rights, boosted Kamala Harris, and she goes against image exploitation of women, otherwise known as ‘revenge porn.’ Many of these IP Proxy-using coders likely could enjoy ‘forbidden websites.’ It’s beyond covering it up with domestic abuse.

Her awards and titles are long. She’s a UN Human Rights Champion, ACLU Ambassador, supported RiseNow with Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Amanda Nguyen for sexual assault survivors to speak at the UN General Assembly, protested against Kavanaugh, and is a L’Oreal spokesperson. She works on increasing voting for progressives. Meanwhile, Bots are aimed at creating heated discussions especially during election years. Benefactors would want her silenced, then move to cover the motives with enabled hate.

Online, there’s been a chilling effect worldwide especially for the past 5 years against women, anti-LGBTQIA+, and ‘men’s rights’ hate groups trying to silence women and stop women speaking about domestic abuse or other abuse especially if they’re high profile.

There are bots used with the goal to incite civil wars, including the United States for at least a year, to attack their leaders and public figures with disinformation conspiracies.

Emerging Technology Speaker Series — Beyond Bots and Trolls — Understanding Disinformation
According to one researcher, Kate Starbird, speaking about disinformation bots and posted by Mozilla, she said that immediately when she posted her research findings on bots in election year 2016, accounts accused her of working with NATO and other entities to cause people to discount her views when reading the angry comments. She said she thought in 2019 that these appeared to be activists, but in reality, likely they are bots making rounds via keywords with simulated profiles.

“On October 12, 2017, [Rose 🌹] McGowan exposed the fact that Harvey Weinstein had raped her, and that Amazon Studios dropped her project after she complained. On the same day, McGowan said that Twitter suspended her account for 12 hours after she repeatedly tweeted about Weinstein’s sexual misconduct, including toward her. Many Twitter users expressed outrage over her account being locked. After the tweet was removed, her account was unlocked several hours before the 12-hour ban was set to expire.

Through his lawyer, David Boies, Weinstein at one point hired the private intelligence agency Black Cube to spy on McGowan and to stop outlets such as The New York Times and The New Yorker from reporting their investigations on Harvey Weinstein.”

We’ve seen the 3 types of social bots in…

Social bots — the technology behind fake news.”

The web crawler and the chat bot are considered two basic types of bot. Current bot types often combine their basic functions. They search social networks for discussions on pre-defined topics (data evaluation just like web crawlers) and influences them as a virtual conversation participant (simulation of conversations like with a chat bot).

The technology is easily available. Open source bot codes are on GitHub.

Many platforms use captchas to ward off social bots. Captchas are tests that people can usually pass without problems, but many bots have difficulties with them.

Change.org refuses to put reCaptcha onto the “Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2” petition, even after the videos, and sending them THOUSANDS of signatures stating ‘no captcha!’ A reCaptcha v2 can increase signing time to 30 seconds more, compared to 4 seconds, which would have significantly reduced the signature amounts that are done based on time and data. It can also add on costs, unless they have an AI engine to solve it. $2.99 per 1,000 from 2captcha’s API can add up to $5,382 (1.8mil/1000x$2.99), but mostly it’s the time, proxies, and data as the issues.

  1. The overloader: This is a bot that literally floods an online conversation with its comments. It posts the same statements over and over again, causing other posts to get pushed out of sight. The overloader is only really effective if it works with other bots [accounts/IPs]. When a botnet overloads a post with likes and comments, human users quickly lose control of the discussion. This makes it then impossible to exchange content this way.

Example botnet overloader: Amber Heard’s 2020 Takeaway: ‘Adapt & Survive’

  1. The trendsetter: Trendsetters also work best in teams: If a large number of social bots seize a hashtag together, they can easily spread posts relating to the topic of the hashtag. If the topic ends up trending on Twitter or Facebook, it might be picked up by the press [for fake, gullible, and hateful news]. This way, the trendsetter bot distorts the actual relevance of the chosen topic area: They ensure that marginal phenomena act like groundbreaking trends, or small groups like large social movements.
  2. The auto troll: It tries to distract users who express themselves on a certain topic and tries to involve them in a conversation. It usually does this with contradictory statements, which causes the user to retaliate. This distracts the user from the original conversation, and the new conversation becomes polemic and heated. With this method, bots can easily prevent users from exchanging content [and hiding bots with hate].

The Geek Buzz: Video Reveals Bots Signing Anti-Amber Heard Petition

When rightwing-tinged nerd sites began heralding the thousands of signatures being added weekly to Change.org’s petition to fire Amber Heard from Aquaman II, some of us who tend to think more critically smelled a rat, er, a bot. Even before outlets like Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, and The Times of London covered the suspected astroturf campaign to discredit the Queen Mera actress, The Geekbuzz put it out there in a series of articles and tweets revealing the history of such practices and how easily automated petition signers could be bought. For the first time, though, there’s a video that shows the technique in action.

The bot’s Russian origin is a crucial aspect of this story. Adam Waldman, Johnny Depp’s attorney who was barred from his upcoming libel case in the United States, is a former lobbyist for Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire, and Kremlin insider. It’s believed by some he was involved with or has insider knowledge, of the 2016 hacking of the US election.

Amber Heard and Elon Musk. They dated for a year after the restraining order against Depp.

Instead of a rational reaction of support after Amber Heard’s win in Great Britain, bots were escalated in excess to overload, trendset, auto-troll, and erase her win from the public’s mind and from partner’s minds. It’s to force outcomes without legality and without the need of any credible sources.

The technology parts of Amber Heard’s counter lawsuit draws attention to how bots work, but needs deeper analysis.

The easiest way of not taking direct blame for inciting horrible outcomes against leadership today is exactly through using other intermediaries.

We wish for optimal safety! The May 3rd libel trial in Fairfax, Virginia is about 20 miles from Washington D.C.

Does studying Amber Heard’s case teach you everything you need to know about Social Bots and AstroTurfing?
