Does your new beau become visibly upset when you discuss the attractiveness of another person? Has he or she suggested that you discontinue communication with an ex with whom you had an amicable breakup and have since become friends? Does your paramour comment about your clothing being too alluring(for a man, not buttoning your shirt all the way revealing a little chest hair; for a woman, tight jeans or a little cleavage) or your gait being too suggestive?

If you’ve answered yes to these questions then you are probably dating an insecure lunatic. Below is a list of characteristics that could prove useful in determining if you are in fact, going out with an insecure person.

  1. He or she has an app on their phone which can monitor when you are texting or calling another person. (Major red flag here.)
  2. Has requested the passwords to your email and social media accounts. (Uh…creepy.)
  3. Complains when you are out with friends, always wants to spend his or her every waking hour with you because they have no social life outside of your relationship. (Yeah, that’s serial killer status.)
  4. They cringe when a person of the opposite sex offers you a compliment, often brooding afterwards while giving you the silent treatment in public only to berate you in private. (Um…run.)
  5. They allude to their world crumbling upon your leaving them and how they would not wish to go on without you. (Alighty then).

If you can relate to even two of these descriptions you’re more than likely involved with a toxic person and should probably end this relationship post haste. That is, unless, dating Dexter has always been a dream of yours.
