Culture of Faisalabad

The culture of Faisalabad is quite diverse. The city has a very specific historical significance. It was developed in 1904 as Lyallpur, a hundred years ago. The city of Lyallpur was named in the honor of Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab, Sir James Broadwood Lyall for his services. In 1979, the Government of Pakistan changed the name of the city from Lyallpur to Faisalabad (‘City of Faisal) in honor of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who made several financial contributions to Pakistan. There are a lot of recreational, historical, and newly developed places to visit in Faisalabad.

The aerial view of Clock Tower, Faisalabad

Here is the list of view places that I think you must visit and know about in Faisalabad, Punjab of Pakistan.

Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar)

The Clock Tower of Faisalabad was built by British Raj in the nineteenth century. This Iconic Tower is one of the oldest monuments as it is still standing in its master state. It is situated in the oldest and central area of the city. The tower is placed between the Eight markets (bazaars). The Eight Bazaars are named as Katchery bazaar, Chinot bazaar, Aminpur bazaar, Bhawana Bazaar, Jhang Bazaar, Montgomery bazaar, Karkhana bazaar, and Rail bazaar. Each of the Eight Bazaar has a unique type of product to sell. This spectacular building standing between the Eight Bazaars forms a “ Union Junk” as it is in the British flag, which can be overviewed from the top. If you visit this charming spot, You must have to taste that Bengali Lassi.
