Top UI design trends over the years

UI design trends have come and gone over the years, with new ideas becoming popular and then fading away. However, there are a few design trends that have remained popular throughout the years. In this article, I will discuss 7 of the most popular UI design trends over the last decade or so.

1. Minimalism:

The minimalist user interface provides a professional and clear impression to users.

More white space and simple designs Images and text that stand out from the rest of the design. Flat colors, no gradients or shadows Flat designs and minimalism can be used in a number of different ways, but are generally both effective and visually appealing. A minimalist interface loads fast and requires fewer resources than a more complex website. The design easily switches to various screen sizes.

2.Flat Design:

Flat design is a term used in web design, graphic design, and other visual arts to describe a type of minimalism that uses simple geometric shapes, clean lines, and bright colors. It is often used in interface design, where the focus is on delivering a user experience that is easy to understand and navigate. Flat design can also be used for logos, illustrations, and other types of graphics.

3.Material Design:

Material Design is a comprehensive guide for visual, interaction, and motion design across platforms and devices. Introduced by Google in 2014, Material Design has become a popular framework for creating unified, intuitive user experiences. Its goal is to provide a single design language that can be used across all devices and platforms, from smartphones to web browsers to smart TVs.

4.Animations & Micro interactions:

Animations design style is all about adding delight to an experience by adding fluidity and life-like motion. Animations can be used to provide feedback, indicate status, or just add a bit of fun. Micro interactions are tiny moments of interaction that can be used to make an app or website more user friendly. When combined, animations and micro interactions can create a delightful experience that makes using an app or website more enjoyable.

5.Voice User Interface (VUI):

VUI, or Voice User Interface, is a technology that allows humans to interact with computer systems and digital devices using only their voice. This can be done through a phone call, using an app on a phone or computer, or even through a home assistant like Amazon Echo or Google Home. VUI allows people to control devices and get information without having to use their hands or see a screen.

6.Glassmorphism UI Design:

Glassmorphism UI Design is a new trend in user interface design that takes its inspiration from the transparency and fluidity of glass. This style is characterized by clean, minimalist designs with an emphasis on typography and simple animations. Elements are often arranged in minimalist compositions that allow users to focus on the content. Glassmorphism UI Design is perfect for modern web and mobile apps that need to be both efficient and visually appealing.

7.Dark mode UI Design:

Dark mode UI Design is a design trend that uses dark colors for the user interface instead of light colors. Dark mode is often used on devices with OLED(organic light-emitting diode) displays because black pixels use less power than white pixels. Many apps and websites have adopted dark mode as a way to save battery life and minimize eye fatigue.

The transformation of design trends over the years has resulted from how users have adapted, behave and interact with the product. The direction of emotion often determines the direction of the trend. Design trends come and go. The mission should be creating user-friendly &easy-to-use product which brings awesome experience.
