Philippine Indigenous Peoples: Indigenous by Culture, but NOT in Origin.

Indigenous peoples play an important role in preserving their unique cultures, traditions, languages and beliefs over a long period of time. To describe the indigenous people of the Philippines, they have curly hair, people of small size and dark skin color. They live in a secluded area and some of them are afraid of a connection between strangers. Their source of food is hunting, gathering, fishing and planting of root crops, bananas, rice, sweet potatoes and many more whose food production was primarily. They live in the highlands or at the top of the mountain. Why did they choose to live there and choose solitude? When Spanish colonization came to the Philippines, they brought fear among the indigenous people to experience suffering in their heavy hands like forced labour. As a result, the indigenous people climbed to the top of the mountain to resist the regime of the Spaniards. They did not allow the Spanish to influence their culture, traditions and even their beliefs.

The Indigenous peoples of the Philippines are not really or fully Indegenous. Why? Let us see. In the theory proposed by Henry Otley Beyer called Wave Migration Theory , he stated that Agtas , Indonesians and Malays came here. He stated that the first peoples met by the Spaniards was not the Agtas. According to the theory of Beyer he stated tha The Agtas lives first in the seashores and when the Indonesians arrived who’s more superior in culture, they got scared and forced to move into the slope of the mountain. And when the Malays arrived who’s more superior than Indonesians. They also got scared and moved into the slopes of the mountains wherein the Agtas already occupied it, but the Indonesians forced Agta to move into the top of the mountain so that they could occupied it. This time the Malays occupied and live in the seashores. When the the Spaniards arrived they first saw and meet the Malay people not the Agtas , because the Agta are residing in the top of the mountain. Another information taught by the professor of Dr. Geruna , he said that the Agtas was not the first peoples came here. It maybe the Japanese,or the Australians and the Tasmanians of Australia. Because they discovered skulls in the Tabon Cave in Palawan , and when they examined it he results is those skulls were not Agta. Therefore those skulls belongs to the Tabon man who migrated herein the Philippines. How is it possible? Because of the nature. When the water level fall back, some of the ridges and contours underneath the ocean were exposed. As a result those people could walk on it and came thru here in the Philippines. In addition ,the Cimmarones or Remontados the lowlanders also joined the upland Agtas on the top of the mountain to resist the Spaniards regime. Take note that the Cimmarones are fair-complexion ,they are not fully blooded Agta. As a result they are able to mixed their breed. The lowlanders and upland people are mix together with the Agta and then the lowlanders become an Indigenous. In conclusion ,the lowlanders mix with upland people were they are pure blooded Agta .
