Continuous integration is everywhere. If you’ve written some code recently, chances are you probably have a test or two that went along with it. So why not test Kubernetes before merging to master?

This post will cover how to get Kubernetes up and running with minikube in AppVeyor.

Minikube

minikube is one of the fastest ways to get up and running with Kubernetes. Built on top of libmachine, minikube can spin up a virtual machine and launch a single node cluster without the need to understand how it all works.

On Linux, setting the flag --vm-driver=none skips the virtual machine completely and launches containers on the host OS directly. The CLI will warn about running kubeapi-server as root, but the risk is mitigated by being run in a disposable environment in CI. …
