Arcade Node & ICON Partnership
Hello ICONists. We Are Arcade Node.
We are very pleased to announce that we have officially partnered with ICON to collaborate on marketing and community outreach.
Together, ICON and Arcade Node will develop strategies to recruit the next generation of builders and users of the blockchain industry, with a primary focus of creating strong brand awareness and partnerships on University campuses.
Initial Objectives:
- The ICON University Alliance: Arcade will build a network of university interns and brand ambassadors to contribute and promote the ICON Ecosystem. Focused on high level academic institutions, Arcade will create a talent pool of leaders in fields of computer science, entrepreneurship, economics, mathematics, marketing and design to contribute to the ICON blockchain.
- University Activations and Social Campaigns: Arcade will leverage this talent pool via a series of on campus activations like Hackathons to jumpstart dApp building on the ICON blockchain. We will also reward ecosystem participants for creating social campaigns on platforms like TikTok to spread financial literacy and document their own dApp projects.
- Messaging and New Media Marketing: Arcade will work closely and share insight with ICON Marketing team on content strategy and key insights when targeting the college population. Arcade will also develop low-cost digital marketing strategies such as podcast appearances and social media content generation with the ICON Marketing team.
ICON University Alliance
Using our personal network with universities like Columbia and NYU, we will first test pilot and then scale to a nationwide brand-ambassador program. Primarily sourcing from finance, blockchain, marketing and computer-science clubs, Arcade will offer a mix of internship credit and ICX rewards for members contributions.
Brand-Ambassadors will have opportunities to fulfill a variety of tasks for various rewards via established programs like HX57, bug bounty programs, social marketing programs and dApp development programs.
University Hackathons, Panels and Events
To address the need for a more robust dApp ecosystem, Arcade Node and its college ambassadors will launch a series of Hackathons at various Universities. Ideally these will be weekend long Hackathon session where participants are grouped together to rapidly ideate and prototype ICON Blockchain use cases.
Groups will be sorted by experience, skill and interest in the main applications of the ICON protocol such as DeFi and NFTs.
The goal will be to inspire a wave of developers and entrepreneurs to use the ICON protocol and lay the foundation of an ICON blockchain Accelerator similar to Ethereum’s Consensys.
eSports | New Media Sponsorships:
The ICON Blockchain is a forward thinking, Internet powered movement. Our marketing should be too. As such Arcade will work with ICON to identify sponsorship opportunities in new media sectors like eSports, Twitch Streaming, Podcasting, etc. This could range from eSports tournament ICX prize pools to Twitch Stream takeovers.
Arcade will also develop brand strategy for social media content based around the benefits of decentralized finance, NFTs and other blockchain based use cases.
Arcade’s Philosophy
Like many of you, we invested early in the ICON protocol, impressed with its breadth of partnerships and development-first approach. After years of building, ICON 2.0 is soon to deploy, BTP is around the corner and a whole new “Icy” blockchain is about to be unveiled.
This is an exciting time for the ICON community. But as the development team begins shipping these projects, an equally important challenge begins: creating a thriving ecosystem of dApps, developers, users and investors. For this, we’ve decided to step up to the plate.
We are a project born from the ICON community, specifically the /r/helloicon subreddit. We believe in transparency, decentralization and accountability. If anyone wants insight into our process, to contribute or has suggestions please join us on our Discord or reach out on Twitter.
Founding Team
Arcade Node is currently comprised of two members, Max and Jeff who graduated from NYU and Columbia University. With 12+ years combined experience in entrepreneurship, brand strategy and computer science we are excited to join the roster of excellent P-Reps for the ICON blockchain.
