‘Never surrender’ and ‘never give in’

Sir Winston Churchill said those two phrases, which mean essentially the same thing, in two speeches during WWII; the first in a famous speech to inspire the nation and the second at an address to the school he went to.

Despite them being 75 years old, they remain sage words of wisdom for anyone who has a dream or a goal they wish to achieve.

“Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. — Winston Churchill

So long as you never surrender and you never give in, then no matter how dark or difficult things become, you will get to where you want to be.

This is how I feel about my career as an author; I have lost battles over the years but I intend to win the war and become successful. Success is of course subjective, everyone must decide what it means to them, and for me success means making a living from my books, not just a living but enough money to be comfortable and not have to worry about the bills.
