Is Raising Kids in San Francisco Worth It?
Mollie McWilliams

As an SF public schools parent, I would say the public schools are a reason to have kids in SF. Because of the lottery, there is less disparity in school quality and outcomes among schools than in other big cities. And your child will experience greater diversity and develop greater empathy than if they were in public schools elsewhere. We should be proud that we have an equitable public school system, not anxious that we can’t buy our way into a neighborhood with by right access to the only high quality schools in town.
