The Arcona contest results
As you might know a couple of weeks ago we invited all the subscribers of Arcona’s telegram to participate in a contest top prized with a haunting and fascinating Iphone X! The rules were ultimately simple — to describe a project related to AR in 3–4 sentences and post the suggestion on our channel with a hashtag #arcona_contest. We gave to the competitors carte blanche and totally didn’t limit the specifics of potential projects, it could be any idea on AR in use for business. The only condition was creativity!
Every day a week we chose the most interesting three ideas on the basis of originality. Thus Arcona transferred more than 300 tokens to the participants.
Now the first contest is over and we are ready to sum up the results. More than 30 lovely ideas been pitched by 14 participants!
We’d like to share with all of you the ideas our team and audience liked most.
A very active subscriber named @IllyaDembrovsky who offered plenty of cool ideas pitched the idea of using AR / VR for working process improvement and optimization: “Via headset you can access your workplace where you can add or buy add-ons you can work with. For example you are buying cloud storage to save you files to work with them. Everything would be well sorted and you real table would be empty:) Also you can share content with someone else to work at the same project simultaneously. It can be 3D graphics editing, drawing the building or design. You even don’t have to be in one room to show any details! Also you can pick your workplace anywhere without any changes: you can work in the park, cafe, office or on the beach:)”.

Another contest participant called @Jame7 is the author of the project which gathered a lot of supporters within our team: “The future of production will be shifting from current “Mass production” to “Mass Customization”. How many times you find a pair of shoes that you really like and everything is perfect….unfortunately your size is not available ? How many times you found a great piece of furniture that you really like but the color does not match your home theme color?
Worry no more. Mass customization comes in for help BUT NOT WITHOUT the help of VR/AR modeling to customize the size or the color and etc for the customer.
Mass customization industry will soon to be a huge industry and will be dependent heavily on the VR/AR technology.

The top prize goes to Bratislava, to the one of the most vivid participants of the contest bringing 5 more or less original concepts of AR/VR usage into the contest discussion. Basically the idea of virtual sparring partner for active sports is not totally fresh, but the functions of such a system described by Petra from Slovenia are pretty necessary in our real lives. Here’s the author’s description: “I’d like to offer a pretty evident option of using AR for the industry of sports and training. when training for martial arts — for instance — and also for full contact sports (as rugby, football, kickboxing, whatever) would be nice to develop the speed of reaction, explosive fighting back, blocking, avoiding the impacts by means of fighting against virtual sparring partner. this would be very convenient to choose a partner of exactly same level that a training sportsman needs right at the moment, counting physical shape, skills, functional relevance, injuries and stuff”.
