You know what they say: If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem — period. Plus symbols can be a slippery slope. They can convey solidarity or symbol of hate. But they have been used since the dawn of mankind, in war mostly, but also as a sign of unity, space, empowerment, control and so on. When I re-read Brave New World and Animal Farm, I feel like I am not reading some fiction or futuristic ideals, but current events.
