If you are looking to purchase a SeaWorld package for a vacation or trip it is crucial to know the key differences between SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld Orlando parks.

Both locations feature a wide range of rides, live shows, and animal exhibits to choose from; however, the lineups of the two parks are not identical.

Things to do at Both Parks

Both parks feature a large number of live shows and various animal exhibits. Shows featuring whales, dolphins, sea lions, and otters can be found in either park; though the theming and presentation of the shows varies from park to park.

In addition to animal shows, both parks also feature a number of rides and roller coasters. Both parks feature the “Journey to Atlantis” watercoaster, the “Manta” flying coaster.

Each park also features a Sesame Street themed interactive play area. Dubbed “Sesame Street’s Bay of Play” this section of each park is ideal for young children that are not suited for the larger thrill rides within the parks.

Attractions only at SeaWorld San Diego

SeaWorld San Diego is home to the “Bayside Skyride” attraction which takes riders along a six-minute gondola-style trip over San Diego’s Perez Cove. The “Shipwreck Rapids” attraction is a “river rapids” type ride, over the course of the ride the riders pass by a sea turtle exhibit and under a waterfall. Finally, SeaWorld San Diego features the “Electric Eel” roller coaster, currently the tallest in San Diego at an impressive 150 feet tall. Plus, SeaWorld San Diego is getting a new coaster in 2020. Matching the height of the “Electric Eel”, the “Emporer” will be tallest and the fastest floorless coaster at SeaWorld San Diego. Dangle and drop more than 150 ft as you dive 90 degrees into thrilling twists!

In addition to an assortment of unique rides, SeaWorld San Diego is also host to a selection of unique marine exhibits, one such exhibit is the “World of Fishies.” This aquarium is home to a large number of animals, including piranha, alligator gar, leopard sharks, and an Olive Ridley sea turtle.

SeaWorld San Diego is also home to ten killer whales. While these whales used to perform in a theatrical show, they now are a part of the “Orca Encounter” educational presentation.

Attractions only at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando is home to the “Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin” attraction, a themed area that is headlined by a motion-based “dark ride” featuring live penguin and alcid exhibits. The “Infinity Falls” ride is a “river rapids” type of ride that features a vertical elevator lift and the world’s tallest river rapids drop.

Apart from these unique rides, SeaWorld Orlando is also the home of a number of unique animal shows. These shows include the Dolphin Days show at the “Dolphin Theater” which includes dolphins, macaws, and marabou stork. Another such show is Clyde and Seamore’s Sea Lion High which takes place in the “Sea Lion and Otter Theater” and features a pair of California sea lions, Asian small-clawed otters, and a walrus.

SeaWorld Orlando is also home to a number of animal tours that allow guests to get up close and personal with some of SeaWorld’s most beloved animals. Options for animal tours include beluga whales, dolphins, killer whales, and sea lions just to name a few.
