Comprehensive Guide to Interviewing Mobile Developers

I am a mobile developer with 10+ years of experience, during which I’ve conducted more than 200 interviews, and I care about hiring the most valuable developers for my teams. Through these years I honed an approach that has never failed me. It is not computer science, and it is something very obvious that has been around all the time, but still, I’d like to share. Remember that it is only about mobile; for other fields, my conclusions might be wrong.

When I play the role of interviewee, my principle is never to be prepared for a technical interview. Well, except writing down a list of possible questions you want to ask an interviewer. I believe that if a person prepares for the interview, the result will show how well they are prepared, rather than their experience and capabilities. Of course, that might be an exception if you just graduated from university and dream of joining one of the leading players in IT.

Once I was invited to apply for a Senior iOS position at Meta. The screening call with HR went smoothly; she was impressed with my career trajectory, and yet she sent me tons of resources, which were developed by Meta to pass the interview.
