To the conniving little twat who wrote this piece. I am sick and tired of hearing about people writing off the Chargers before any vote or any game has been played. “If and when they leave.” Really? Fuck you Cathy Lew! Try being a little more positive. When you write shit like this you are discouraging people from voting for this measure. You and that piece of shit Kevin Acee from the Union Tribune can both fuck off. Yes, the team has lost in some of the most unbelievable ways this season, and yes, Dean Spanos is a cheap billionaire, that’s why he’s a billionaire. And yes, the Spanos family should’ve apologized to the people of San Diego for the treatment last season. What this article failed to recognize was the fact that this new stadium could bring in a lot of money for the city of San Diego. It was estimated that during the All-Star week this past year raised over $50 million in additional revenue for the city of San Diego. That only went on for three days. If this stadium does gets approved, in 2020 or 2021, San Diego will host another Super Bowl. In case you didn’t know, the Super Bowl is a weeklong event. What does that mean? It means that hotel rooms will be booked, restaurants will be packed, and that revenue will only go up for the city of San Diego. What this article also failed to recognize is that the former mayor and current president of San Diego Chamber of Commerce and current mayor back this stadium. To sworn individuals who have done their homework, worked tirelessly to negotiate and renegotiate, read the fine print, and have said that this would be good for the city of San Diego. To the hack writing this article who doesn’t know shit from shineola, or to anyone who spews this kind of bullshit, you will will be the ones to blame if the Chargers leave to a soulless town like Los Angeles. And while we’re at, jump on the bus and leave with them too.
