The moon is a confirmed female. This was declared by a two year old girl who pointed at the moon and claimed, “She’s going!”

Woman possessed by loved ones is a mother. To the child, her fancies must be fleeting. It is all too painful to watch mother walk away, turn her back, and busy herself with anything other than baby. Children’s minds need to wander; mother must stay put, hold down the motherland, and wait for baby to return from their great adventures. If mother moves, baby must stop, must take note where she is going. This is exhausting. This is dangerous.

The pain of waiting, of missing her, of wishing for her return is a labyrinth.

If she is slow to return, then abandonment and rejection may be the case. Babies go into hysteria. Adults stay quiet and sulk.

This pain of waiting for mother is a physiological sensation that remains in the body memory forever. Adults digest it in different ways, manifesting art, horrors, sicknesses, and wars over this single memory. Adults, whether they knew her or not, will possess their mothers and anything that…
