Makeup the time-tested way to enhance our features and make us look the best possible. However, in the hurry to bathe, dress and set our hair every morning, there hardly is any time left to apply makeup. Most days we just slap on some powder and lipstick before dashing out of the house. To think of it, can we ever spare the time to carefully pencil in sparse eyebrows and make them look thick and full?

When we do manage to expend some efforts on the face, many of us end up with smudged eyeliner and bleeding lipstick much before the end of the day. Then there’s the perennial worry of the eyebrows leaking every time you go to the gym, wash your face or even just dab the sweat on your forehead.

But what if we can just throw away those eyebrow pencils, eyeliners and lipsticks and yet wake up with a perfectly made up face every morning? This dream can become reality courtesy of permanent makeup.

What is it all about?

Permanent makeup is a type of cosmetic tattooing where fine needles are used to implant colored pigments in the upper layer of the skin. This procedure can be used to make faint eyebrows look bold and well-defined or to open up your eyes with a flattering eyeliner. Similarly, it can help create full and luscious lips in the desired shape and color. On a more serious note, permanent makeup can help cover different kinds of scars and even create a natural looking areola post a breast re-constructive surgery.

How is it done?

It is imperative to work with a trained and experienced technician who can deliver the kind of results you want in a safe and assured manner. The technician will first identify your requirements and subtly guide you in choosing the best shape and color that will suit your face.

The treatment begins with the technician drawing the desired shape with a regular eyebrow pencil, eyeliner or lip liner. Once you approve of the shape, the pigments will be custom mixed to get the color you want. An anesthetic cream is applied on the area before the technician proceeds to tattoo individual hair (for eyebrows) or lines on the skin. Slight pain — like scratches — can still be perceived.

There will be slight redness or swelling on the treated area for a few days. Care is required while the skin heals and recovers. The pigments look darker initially but settle into a subdued look very soon. A follow-up session is scheduled after a few weeks to retouch the permanent makeup and correct flaws, if any.

Now the permanent makeup looks completely natural and yet the face looks charming and attractive all the time.

Keep in mind that the pigments are bound to fade away over time and this is why permanent makeup is actually known as semi permanent makeup. You can expect the semi permanent makeup to last for 2 to 3 years and will require touchups every year or so.

So what is stopping you from waking up with your face ready every morning with beautiful makeups?
