Intention-based design is a term I chose to describe a process where design tools understand your intention (for example, adding a header) and do the work for you, which I believe could change the way people currently design.

As for your question — sliders are a good UI for forms like this because sliding is faster easier than typing. (one clicks are easier than sliding though, so I preferred toggles when possible).

The popularity of MyFitnessPal is what gave me the inspiration for doing this, I know it’s currently the biggest app for nutrition and fitness, but when I tried to use it, I saw how time is wasted on listing food items, and I gave up pretty quickly.
Thanks for your response David. Like you said, I definitely think that there’s some balance between all of them, and some companies get many things right. If a company is focused mostly on the users it doesn’t mean that it’s lacking on technology, design, or growth — it just means that the biggest focus is on the user.
