Napier Holiday

July 2014

We had a wedding to attend in Napier on 11 July 2014. I was the official wedding photographer and as it was a family wedding (Daniel’s second cousin) the whole family was invited.

It was lovely to get away from Auckland after receiving Elsa’s upcoming surgery news. We were able to focus on having fun and catching up with family. The kids flew down with the Grandparents to Napier while Daniel and I took two cars and drove down. This was Elsa’s first time on a plane so there was much excitement!

As this was Elsa and Lucas’ first wedding to be invited to and attend, they were so excited. We went wedding clothes shopping for both kids earlier on in the week and they had very clear ideas as to what they wanted to wear. Especially Elsa! Right down to the colour shoes she wanted (white) and who knew finding white shoes was going to be such a mission. But, we found them and all was well again in Elsa’s world.

We had a great time in Napier. The kids got to visit the farm and feed hay to the cows, go mandarin picking, drive the car around on the farm, and do lots of bike riding and playing in playgrounds.

The actually wedding day which was on a Friday was perfect weather. Sunny, and clear blue skies and the kids had a great time. It was a great way to spend some of the school holidays and not to worry or think about what was looming ahead.
