I think this is a very good point. If you read the biographies of people who have done anything worthwhile in life very few did it for financial reasons. One must consider that when you bring money into a transaction it changes the way it is framed psychologically. So paradoxically viewing something in financial terms may put you off from doing something which, long term, may actually lead to you being better off financially.
