Core i9 9900k vs Thread Ripper 2970wx

If we talking about UBM Effective speed, these two processor has value that is a close with each other. the score difference between these two processor is only three point (according to this). Before we talking about why its leading with each other lets talk about what is UBM Effective speed

UBM Effective speed

UBM Effective is a percentage of performance measurement of typical use for customer. From there we can measure UBM value for money rating, its use typical real world use for measurement, so we can make a good comparison between each processor and what processor that good to buy based on the real world performance test.

after knowing what is UBM Effective speed lets talk about the architecture between these two processor.

The theory

In late 2018, intel launch the new generation of intel core i9–9900k. On the other side of the hill, AMD launch the Ryzen Threadripper 2970wx. If we talking about processor we should be look the architecture by itself here the picture of the architecture of core i9–9900k.

core i9-9900k has 8 core cpu and build in GPU and media, it has 3 level of cache, it has 16 threads, and 3.6 Ghz frequency and 5 Ghz on “turbo mode”. on the other side amd Ryzen Threadripper-2970WX has 24 core , 3 level of cache and 48 thread, and base frequency of 3 GHz and can be boost up into 4.6 ghz. So what the deals in here? intel had more frequency and etc why on the board amd still win? well my friend lets see about the other component that makes amd is more . So what the deals of these two processor? if you are not everyday user with multithreading usage, the blue team had 16 thread to help your work, and on the other side the read team had massive 48 thread, that makes this procecor had more thread to use, its effect from the total core from the red team. Okay, lets talk about three level of Cache. First level of cache is the fast one, in this case intel has 512 KiB of L1, second level of cache has 2 MiB of L2 and the last level of cache 16 MiB of L3 on the other side amd has 2.25 MiB of L1 cache, 12 MiB of L2 cache and 64 MiB of L3 cache. From these guy we will know what is the level on cache and why its important to had a good cache for process it self. In my sight of an eye, intel doing a pretty good job following the amd 24 core processor with only 8 core processor. and dont forget to compare the price :
