Love Hums
Dear Dove
A Poem Dedicated to the Romantic Notions of Love, & Longing
Oh dove, thy love i yearn for everyday
it seems like forever, since i saw you that day
my ears are tempted to listen to your voice
my heart beats aching to feel your feathers —
brushing my face
My devotion deems exaltation —
from this wait, persevering hardly
seems like a vex, a tiring aimlessness
looms around a thread, that chokes my neck
and soul, persevering through every fret
Doubts spring in my head, longings
turning into duress, distress, disastrous —
difficulty that i can’t protest as i anticipate,
thy wake-up call, that ushers from your presence
a love that sets, a joy that spreads, expanse
Dove, thy love you sung the song
I listened, it all and played it back in my core
as i look for a sign, of your arrival in store
for winters, and summers, Autumns — forevermore
Thy spring that will come, bringing dear dove back home
