Interesting if not a little confusing article. Who are “us” in this context?

I am not sure I can quite understand the basis of this generalisation or stereotyping. The tone of condescension in communication you are referring to is not just unique to India, it happens the world over, has many “levels”, not just rich-poor, or urban-rural. This happens at age levels, such as this one (how to talk to teenagers), that some wealthy people are rude and arrogant is no news.

What you write applies pretty much to the rest of the world as well.
