let me tell you a story
In the 90’s, there lived a man who was an insect exterminator who was in love with the beautiful woman he idolized. His love is blind, his obsession peaks. So he forgot, if he like the worst missed the moon. Ahh, it realy hurts :(
In September 1996, Super fan Ricardo Lopez was obsessed with the Icelandic superstar of the 90s, Bjork.
If you are a K-Pop fan, you may be familiar with the sasaeng, then this man from Hollywood, Florida seems quite worthy of holding that level of title. Yes, because the behavior is the same, namely fans who are obsessed with their idols to the point of being willing to do anything. Including stalking or endangering his beloved. Since 1993, Ricardo has been a fan of Bjork. Unfortunately, in 1996, Bjork fell in love with English musician Goldie.
Ricardo know about Bjork and Goldie’s relationship through an article in Entertainment Weekly. Ricardo felt very disappointed and angry because Bjork already had a boyfriend. In a video he expressed his desire to finish off Goldie for ‘taking’ Bjork from him. “I will kill him. I will send a package and throw him into hell,” said Ricardo in his personal video clip. Ricardo looked very depressed and almost crazy. He immediately prepared a cruel plan because of his disappointment with his idol. He then made a letter bomb containing sulfuric acid which was placed in a thick book that had a hole in it. Futhermore, the bomb was sent to Bjork’s house, ostensibly from a record label. The device was designed to explode when the book was opened
The final step, Ricardo recorded his daily video entitled “Last Day Ricardo Lopez”
In the video he is seen naked and shaved off the hair on his head. His face was then painted using green and red paint.
He admitted that he was very nervous when he went to the post office to send the bomb to Bjork’s house. After painting his lips with black paint, he screamed and shot himself in the mouth using a gun.
The hope is simple, if the bomb succeeds in killing Bjork, the two of them will meet in heaven.
So that’s the story of Ricardo Lopez’s Unrequited love. Ricardo is a person who is new to love because he thinks that love is blind. His common sense had been blinded by his obsession but love is not obsession. It is obsession that destroys and harms oneself. The moral of the story is that just seeing the person you admire being happy with their partner makes you feel like you are half crazy and want to die. Meanwhile, if love is rejected, even though it is said with words that are unpleasant and heartbreaking, at least it will make you realize that he really doesn’t deserve to be with you. he’s not on your level! Think of the rejection as a whip that makes you stronger, more confident and get to move on
