The main principles of persistence
Most often people don’t have enough time and money. This will continue if you have desires, but you lack persistence and correctly set goals.
The ancient Greek philosopher Aristippus believed that persistence and striving to achieve results inevitably lead a persistent person to what he or she wants. Aristippus left to his descendants a philosophical heritage — the Code with the guidelines of wisdom, inspiring to successful actions.
Guideline XV of the Code: “Be capable of persistently pursuing the goals you set.”
Let’s take a step-by-step look at the main principles of persistence that will help you get what you want.
Fundamental difference
Your goal might sound, for example, like this: “I want to buy a new home in the near future.” There are many uncertainties in these words. There is nothing in them that would inspire action.
Now compare it with this statement: “I intend to buy a two-room apartment by November of this year, and for this I will need thousands of dollars.”
Have you noticed the difference? In the second case, clear LIMITS are set. A person announced to himself WHEN he or she realizes their plans and HOW MUCH money he or she will need. Desire is no longer an abstract fantasy. It has taken shape, now it can be measured in terms of money and units of time.
Money
Without an idea of how much money is needed, it is difficult to plan and make effective decisions. You will be haunted by a feeling of insecurity and fear of unnecessarily spending too much money.
If you know HOW MUCH you intend to spend, then you can act wisely and in an organized manner. Even if you don’t have that amount right now, your mind will be set to look for opportunities to get what you need. The brain is more accustomed to operating with exact concepts: it is much easier to find a way to get a thousand dollars than “some amount.”
Time
In the absence of a deadline, there is often a temptation to take your time and postpone your plans for later. As a result, you can completely abandon the idea or achieve what you want, and it will lose its relevance for you.
If you know WHEN you are going to fulfill your plan, then you will manage your time rationally and use it as productively as possible. Realizing that the terms are strictly limited, you will not hesitate and put off important things for tomorrow.
MONEY AND TIME are the most important elements that you should decide upon IMMEDIATELY, without postponing for later.
This will help to plan the work on the goal in the RIGHT sequence and structure the train of thought.
And the first things you need to pay attention to are MONEY AND TIME.
Someone might object: “I can’t give exact data right now. I need to think, make calculations.” By reasoning like this, you run the risk of falling into a common trap. If you delve into the calculations, you can come to the premature conclusion that the goal is too difficult, too costly, or even unattainable. The result is frustration and a refusal to persistently try to do anything.
The immediately indicated time frame and the amount of money are what you can push off from and start accelerating to the planned result. Without this, your start to success may be delayed. If at the moment you do not know how much money and time you need, indicate the approximate values.
It’s okay if the set parameters are inaccurate. They can always be adjusted in the process of moving towards the goal. The main thing is that this process will be launched, and you will move from dreams to actions. The one who acts is much more likely to find the right solution than the one who waits for the grass to grow.
PERSISTENCE WILL HELP YOU TURN A DESIRE INTO A GOAL, AND THE GOAL INTO REALITY!
