I have a dream…

I have a dream that people in my country will one day eliminate stupid stereotypes and become open-minded and tolerant.
Nowadays most people in Russia deny to accept others if they have another opinon or look different. I know that the situation has improved since the Internet became available to all of us, but still I sometimes meet people that can insult or even hit a person that doesn’t meet their standarts. For instance, one day we were in the forest in friends. There were four of us: two girls and two guys with shoulder -length hair. Two drunk men blocked our way and started shouting that my friends were homosexuals and that they needed to go to the army to become real “men”. Then they began to fight and their crazy girlfriends began to shot my friends from an airgun pistol. We somehow ran away, but they kept chasing us and there was a second fight.
I believe people who are not afraid to injure or kill others because they are different can not be called humans. Those two friends of mine still have to face this agression almost every day. Moreover, one of them can’t get a job because his hair is too long.
Of course, there are some more examples, like old people or grown-up men that come up to you if you have a tattoo and try to lecture you. That’s so rude and inthinkable that I sometimes don’t believe that it’s possible to be as narrow-minded as those people are.
I am not even going to mention people of different sexual orientation. At this point their life there is dangerous.
I don’t know whether we can change anything or we should just wait and hide from that cattle. But I have a dream that one day I will live in the country where not our looks, but our personalities will be judged and appreciated.
