“ Let’s eliminate things like genetic differences and general luck factors” — but can you really eliminate these? Especially the genetic differences, as it is shown that people have a genetically predisposed impulse controls and other “self-control” factors.
Additionally, you write “ Grit, determination, willpower, and motivation”, and you then equate them to personal choices, but it seems that a lot of grit and willpower is — again — genetically and environmentally formed, not chosen.
Just some ideas.
