Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon … bus rukna nahi chahta. — Ye Jaawani Hai Deewani

This generation is obsessed with looking successful instead of actually being successful.

A few people take fancy Instagram/Snapchat stories too seriously. I was one of them. I cried out loudddddddd: after reaching that top most point in Barcelona after seeing the cityscape on 01/01/2019 after completing my 11th country in a span of 365 days[Year: 2018].

I asked myself — “am I really happy or am I pretending to be one?”

Breakfast in India 🇮🇳, lunch in Colombo 🇱🇰, working for a US🇺🇸 company from a beach 🏝️ in Bangkok 🇨🇷.

Office is wherever the Macbook💻 and WiFi 📶 can breathe.

Always enough to stay fed, never enough places for the eyes’ greed.

🗣️ Life of a digital nomad 🌐 — for any place under the sky is my work desk!

2018 was a year I tried investing myself more in building relationships with everyone around. I ensured myself to listen to humans more —
“Listening is a fine art, isn’t it?”

The scope of a person can only be understood when they are able to face humiliation, ignorance, breakups and other crisis of life. They need not be brave to fight back always. “It’s not a bad idea to resist and keep shut at times.”

Exploring places: I never intended to have a touristy travel plan ever.
I visited Paris but didn’t visit Louvre Museum.
Barcelona? I didn’t make it to Casa Batlló.
Brussels? Yes I didn’t visit Atomium.
London? Been there thrice but couldn’t make it to the Stonehenge yet. Singapore? Dubai? Abu Dhabi? I didn’t do the Night Saffari.

But it’s okay. Was spending a night with the cab driver hearing his story of shifting from India to Dubai to Barcelona and doing late night dinner hosted by him in your bucketlist? Obviously no.

I’m sure you’d curse yourself for not partying on a New Year eve in Amsterdam?
00:00Hrs on 01/01 : Sitting alone in a highway bustop a little away from the city while the entire Amsterdam city was outside to see the New Year flashy lights with their friends or partying somewhere loud met a Columbian bartender — we had a good conversation over a smoke . I chose to “Be around strangers- know their culture- what excited them/what didn’t/hear their stories” —
Strangers can be weird but not cold like the humans you might know already.

I made a decision to choose humanity first over humans.
Be brave and have a conversation with the stranger next to you.
