GreenBTC.Club V2 is Unleashed Powering the Sustainable Bitcoin Ecosystem
Thanks to the unselfish contributions from the community, around 100 GWh energy consumed by 160 thousand Bitcoin blocks has been greened in GreenBTC.Club V1 in the past 8 months. It’s an unprecedented achievement for GreenBTC.club, but still a small step for the earth.

GreenBTC.Club V2 preview is now unleashed for trial after months of hard working. As the successor of GreenBTC.Club V1, the new V2 not only brings brand new experience of greening bitcoin’s historical energy consumption but also introduces new interesting features.
Lowered Greening Barriers for Every One
GreenBTC.Club V1 allows users to green one or more Bitcoin blocks, but not a portion of a block. When the energy consumed by block mining grows from several kWh per block in early 2009 to more than 2 GWh per block in 2023, it becomes more and more difficult (if not impossible) for a user to green later Bitcoin blocks in a single attempt.
V2 designs a new mechanism that splits the energy consumed by a block zone into millions of small pieces. A user can green as little as a 10 kWh piece of the energy. This significantly lowers the barriers to participating in the greening activities for every community member.
More Diverse Rewards
In addition to AKRE rewards, GreenBTC.Club V2 will enrich the reward diversity for the greening activities. More interesting gifts will be supplied as rewards to the users. This also connects GreenBTC.Club to many DePIN, ReFi and other Web3 communities and hence, enhances the green contributions from all over the world.
More Contribution with Less Friction
GreenBTC.Club V1 directly uses ART (Arkreen Renewable energy Token, represented by an ERC-20 token) to offset the Bitcoin mining energy. As a fastidious green asset, ART links to the AREC (Arkreen Renewable Energy Certificate, represetned by an ERC-721 NFT) that it’s liquidized from. To support the bi-directional conversion between ART and AREC, both the ART and AREC smart contracts are more complex than usual ERC-20 and ERC-721 contracts. This leads to higher gas fee when offsetting the Bitcoin energy.
GreenBTC.Club V2 issues a new ERC-20 token KWH by burning ART (1 ART -> 1000 KWH) in a one-way behavior. This eliminates the overhead of maintaining the bi-directional mapping of ART and AREC and thus, lowers the gas fee. KWH, standing for Kilo-Watt Hour, is used in GreenBTC.Club V2 as a light weight green asset for all greening activities.
New User Interface and Experience
GreenBTC.Club V2 implements a new UI as well as the backend which not only brings better interaction experience but also improves performance allowing more users to play in the club simultaneously.
