I hate that long running series do this. Like depravity inflation or something. You don’t need to top the last villain, you just need to be different (in an interesting way) from the last one. And if you’re prestige television, views should probably have difficulties labeling your antagonist a villain.

There is a version of Euron that is deliciously eccentric and mad who just so happens to have no aversion to violence whatsoever. He doesn’t have to be a depraved sadist to the point of putting Ramsey to shame to be a compelling villain.

I really have liked Euron in this show so far. But if the show is about to crank him up to 11 for no good reason, that’s just dumb.
