Chairman Perez: Why is the DNC accepting a narrative that isn’t supported by facts? The numbers show that the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters chose Hillary in the primaries — the candidate that Sanders’ supporters considered “establishment.” And in nearly every election since then — Democratic primary or general — the Bernie-Sanders’-supported candidate lost.
Clearly the majority of Democrats — and the majority of voters in general — support candidates who Sanders’ voters reject as “establishment” and whose issues Sanders negates as “Identity Politics.” So why is the DNC focusing on Bernie Sanders’ supporters at the expense the majority of Democrats — because that’s what is happening. And if Perez doesn’t think that is happening, he needs to know that it is.
And one more thing: One way the Democrats will NOT win is by constantly apologizing for who we are. Republicans have been able to sell their lies because they don’t back down when they are criticised. They are crazy, but they are loyal. The Democrats, on the other hand, do nothing other than back down. So now this white guy — who isn’t even a Democrat — is getting a lot of attention by saying that the Democratic Party is corrupt and doesn’t care about average Americans. His supporters are saying, “We won’t come to you, but you have to come to us.” And rather than saying, “You’re full of shit,” the DNC is bending over backwards to appease these people. We don’t have to. We’ve got this. And we’ll be stronger together if we acknowledge our strengths rather than run towards our weaknesses.
