Personally I always hated to send a deck. I wanted the audience to read what I wrote and powerpoint/decks feel like they are intended for presentations not for consumption.
For me what worked well was sending an executive summary.
Think of it as a 1 page PDF that covers high level market, team, fundraise target, and product. So in some ways similar to what you might include in a deck that you send pre-meeting but it was much more about facts than aspirations.
For what it’s worth, it was effective, we closed the round quickly, and when we did get in front of an audience the deck was fresh and important.
