And 29 UEFA Champions League Matches And About 58 World Cup Matches

Summer in the Philippines starts around mid-March until May (because June is the boundary of the tremendous heat season and rainy season). Since I stopped schooling, all my life (a.k.a. my 5-month break) had been in front of the television and my laptop. I first indulged myself on online tutorials of drawing, coding, and speaking French. It started out great; I had fun learning French since Duolingo does an amazing way of teaching. In coding and drawing, I started out slow since… well I felt bored. Why? I found joy in other things: FOOTBALL.

It was the UEFA Champions League that got me hooked up on football. Long story short, I watched some group stage games until the finals, though I wasn’t able to watch the finals on time. Football, for me (yes I emphasized that part because I know a lot of people will criticize), is a lot better than basketball (and I compared it to basketball because I also watch the NBA). Yes, football is a 90-minute game with only a 15-minute break during its 45-minute mark and no other breaks, but watching it straight without timeouts keeps the game’s moment and the tense alive. Plus, it feels like it’s shorter than watching basketball. During the UEFA time, the 2014 NBA Finals also took place. Yes I watched it but not in the way that I watched it before like cheering and shouting in front of the television. And now, I also tuned in to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It’s my first time, so it’s hard for me to pick a favorite. But I rooted for Brazil since Neymar plays there. And tomorrow, it’ll be the match between Germany and Argentina. That’ll be exciting since Germany came out strong and…well, Messi’s in Argentina (sounds like a bandwagon fan, right?) But anyway, it’s like love at first sight for me to football.

Last 2nd of June, a miracle happened. It’s my first day of school! Yes, I started schooling again, though not in the school I hoped for. Nothing personal about the school. It’s just the location. So I enrolled in Informatics College in Eastwood, Quezon City. I chose it because I found their curriculum very good and because of the location. So far, I’m enjoying it because of my peers and I can safely say that I’m really learning now. Not that I didn’t learn anything when I studied Physics but I just enjoyed IT more and it’s really fun.

During the course of my 5-month break, I somehow managed to go to different condominiums. No, we’re not rich. It’s just that my cousin and her friend lived in a condominium c/o my cousin’s boss. Long story short, we’d get to have some peek of their perks! Also, my sister’s friend visited the Philippines last April and she doesn’t had a place to stay so she rented a room from a condominium for a month. I lived in a bungalow-type of house for 18 years and that’s why staying in a condo for a few nights feels like an upgrade. Fast wi-fi connection, unlimited use of the air conditioning unit, and complete channels in the television. Since I started living with my siblings only, we needed to cut our bills short to budget and that includes the television cable. So yeah, I got all the upgrade in my free visits in those condos.

So that’s how my summer had been (beside our out-of-town trips). From January to March, I managed to blog since I always spent my time at home and doing nothing all the time. But since my last post until today, I found life outside WordPress. Still bummed, but I’d get to get out of my comfort zone. And that’s the reason why it took me exactly 117 days to publish a new post.
