For all of your friends who want to volunteer, tell them about year-round AVC service opportunities in Armenia

Have friends 21–32 who are looking for a unique and fulfilling internship experience off the beaten path? If so AVC’s Volunteer Corps is for them. And for everyone over 32 we offer a Professional Corps program. With over 700 partners in Yerevan and throughout Armenia, we have many placements in every sector from Anthropology to Zoology and everything in between.

Heather Conyers (Canada) is currently pursuing a post-graduate certificate in Arts Administration and Cultural Management. With interests in archeology, anthropology, museum studies, and management, Heather’s main placement is at the Erebuni Historical and Archeological Museum and Reserve where she is not only completing her university internship requirements, but also helping the museum staff improve their English skills. Additionally, she is supporting Ballet 2021 Foundation’s social media and communications needs.

Benoit Sicard (France) had an Armenian friend in high school. He visited Armenia in 2014 as part of a larger trip throughout the region and decided that he would try to return for a more immersive experience. Currently completing a Master’s in International Business, Benoit is fulfilling his university internship requirements at the Enterprise Incubator Foundation. He is also supporting Meline’s Garden as they research and plan how to target new foreign markets for their Armenian-grown products.

Jennifer Huygen (Netherlands) interned at the Smithsonian Institution’ Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, DC, in 2016 where she learned of the Smithsonian’s ‘MyArmenia’ program in Armenia. Having opted to pursue a Master’s Degree in Cultural Tourism, she decided to come to Armenia; because it is not very well known, she thought it would be a good challenge and adventure, and satisfy her passion for heritage travel and discovery, while allowing her to complete her university internship requirements.

As you plan your 2017 travels, why not consider a service experience in Armenia? AVC will customize the experience to suit your background and interests. Email us your questions at info@avc.am. When you’re ready, you can apply online.
